2026 EGBR 16-19 League - Summer 2026

Elk Grove Babe Ruth (EGBR) is now opening registration for the 2026 16-19-year-old baseball season. Players born between 1/1/2007 and 4/30/2010 are eligible to register. During the registration period through the website, you will be able to enter contact information, sign up for participation, and submit payment. The fee for the regular season is $260 that includes a full season of eighteen or more games, team jersey, team cap, socks, a Lamppost pizza discount card, and raffle tickets. Any 16-year-olds who are interested in playing in both the EGBR 13-16-year-old division spring season and the 16-19-year-old division season will play a partial season of games in the 16-19-year-old division after the conclusion of their season in the 13-16-year-old division.**

To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa or MasterCard information available. Also, please have a PDF copy or photograph of a recent utility bill showing your address and zip code that you need to upload for our use to comply with the Cosumnes Services District’s (CSD) policy on field usage.

Coaches Larry Stone and John Ryan will manage the team and be responsible for selecting the roster based on player experience, observed skills, availability for practice, and availability to play games in Elk Grove, the greater Sacramento Area, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Ultimately, the coaches will try to arrive at the best fit for the individual and team success. Practice will begin in May to avoid conflicts with the high school programs.

The season may conclude with a 16-19-year-old tournament (dependent on the availability of teams) to be played from July 10, through July 13, 2026, in Mountain View, California. This may include an additional $35 fee to cover tournament expenses (the additional fee does not include player lodging, food, or incidental expenses).

  • What is the season schedule?: Practice and games are scheduled from early May through mid-July
  • Where will games be played?: Games will be played in Elk Grove, the greater Sacramento area, and the San Francisco Bay Area
  • When will the 16-19 tryouts be held?: There are no tryouts for the 16-19-year-old age group.
  • How will the team be selected?: The final roster will consist of fifteen players. The coaching staff will select the final roster.

  • As a parent can I coach?: Possibly, if openings occur on the coaching staff. See Coaches Obligations under Downloads. All coaches must register through the website as “Volunteers” each season.
  • What are the coaching requirements?: Some baseball experience is preferred and there is an online Babe Ruth coaches training course ($20) and abuse training course ($10) that must be passed, and certificate emailed to the Player representative, joemat29@gmail.com
  • What does my registration include?: Each player will be provided with a team jersey, team cap, socks, Lamppost Pizza discount card, and raffle tickets. Your coach will tell you which belt color to get.
  • Does the league provide equipment?: Your player will need to have their own cleats, bat, helmet, and baseball glove. There will be a team equipment bag with one or two sets of catcher's gear.
  • What type of bats are allowed?: For the 16-19-Year-Old age group all bats must be BBCOR .50. Solid one-piece wood bats are permitted. No laminated or experimental bats shall be used in games.
  • Do you need your own helmet?: If your player does not own their own helmet, one can be loaned to the player for the season upon request.
